This award supports a talented bassoon student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program who demonstrates outstanding artistic potential, the ability to further develop their artistry, and a need for support in their professional studies and musical journey.

1.One-page resume (English): A-one page resume outlining the applicant’s education, performance experience, awards, and other significant musical activities.

2.Personal video essay (English 5-7 mins):  Please share your musical journey and future goals. Describe how this award would support your professional bassoon studies and contribute to your growth as an artist. 

3.Teacher’s Recommendation Letter (English): A letter from the applicant’s primary teacher or mentor confirming their dedication, artistic potential, and commitment to musical development. Submission: Recommendation letters must be sent directly by the recommender to bassoonmeetup@gmail.com.The Award Committee may contact recommenders for additional information or follow-up.

4.Video Performance

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • No audio or video editing is permitted within performance segments. Applicants may select their best take; however, any evidence of cuts, splicing, or pitch correction, or other digital manipulation will result in disqualification.

  • Video should be recorded in a well-lit environment with the primary light source in front of the performer. The camera must clearly capture your full range of motion, including both your hands and the entire instrument. If performing with a pianist, both performers should be visible in the recording.

  • The adjudicators’ decisions are final. No communication members of jury regarding the result or evaluation is permitted.

  • The jury serves the right to disqualify any applicants who violates the competition rules or submission requirements.

  • Prizes will be distributed directly to winners by sponsoring companies and organizations.

  • If a prize winner is unable to accept a prize, no cash equivalent or substitution will be provide.

REGISTRATION

Registration is free of charge. Prospective participants are required to complete and submit the official application form. Within the form, applicants will be asked to provide links to: (1) a one-page resume, (2) a video essay, and (3) their performance video.
